initial rousing evening with the master songwriter, on

Thursday, March 17 at 6:45 p.m. at The Triad, 158 West 72 Street in New York City.

Co-hosts are singer/pianist Anne Phillips, who plays the songs in keys that both men and women can sing, and Michael Shepley, who provides informal, amusing and interesting background to the songs themselves. Lyrics are provided and the sing-in begins!

Songs to be sung together will include Anything Goes, So In Love, Always True To You in My Fashion, All of You, My Heart Belongs to Daddy, Let’s Misbehave and many others, with all Porter refrains. And lest anyone think that Porter has nothing to do with St. Patrick’s Day, there is in fact a second refrain in My Heart Belongs to Daddy that addresses the subject nicely.

SING! SING! SING! is a great way to be with friends and to leave one’s cares behind. Bring your favorite Valentine to SING! SING! SING! – We Wish You Love, an evening of wonderful love songs – beautiful, sunny, strange and hilarious – when the popular “American Songbook Sing-In” gathers on Tuesday, February 8 at 7 p.m. at The Triad, 158 West 72nd Street in New York City.*

Participants will get “in voice” in preparation for Valentine’s Day the following Monday.

Co-hosts are singer/pianist Anne Phillips, who plays the songs in keys that both men and women can sing, and Michael Shepley, who provides informal, amusing and interesting background to the songs themselves. Lyrics are provided and the sing-in begins!

With We Wish You Love, the hosts have selected a range 20 songs that deserve to be remembered and sung together, particularly in the week before Valentine’s Day. Included are standards like My Foolish Heart, My Funny Valentine, I Only Have Eyes For You, I Wish You Love, The Nearness of You, and You Made Me Love You; Broadway love songs like If Ever I Would Leave You, Tonight, On The Street Where You Live, Just In Time and Not While I’m Around; comedy tunes like Cole Porter’s hilarious Cherry Pies Ought To Be You, Get Me To The Church On Time, and Makin’ Whoopee; and even that undying Sixties hit, Love Potion #9 – plus many others.

It’s IRVING BERLIN – the Russian immigrant who transformed American music with some of the greatest popular songs ever written – who gets the SING! SING! SING! “sing-in” treatment with "Isn’t This A Lovely Day? – The Songs Of Irving Berlin" on Tuesday, December 7 (2010) at 7 p.m. at The Triad, 158 West 72nd Street in New York City.

In the list of over 20 songs to be sung together are such gems as Blue Skies, Always, Anything You Can Do, White Christmas, I Got Lost In His Arms, Isn’t This A Lovely Day (To Be Caught in the Rain), It Only Happens When I Dance With You, The Song Is Ended (But The Melody Lingers On, There’s No Business Like Show Business, Say It Isn’t So, They Say It’s Wonderful and many others.

At SING! SING! SING! events, co-hosts Anne Phillips and Michael Shepley provide piano and anecdotal accompaniment, respectively, and the audience raises its voice in song. Lyric sheets are provided to keep everyone happily in sync.

Previous SING! events have included tributes to Cole Porter, Oscar Hammerstein II, MGM musicals, Nat King Cole, and different themes like singing, dancing, and travel.

A "De-Lovely" Night With Cole Porter!!

New York City's popular Upper West Side institution, SING! SING! SING!, presents
A "De-Lovely" Night With Cole Porter, an evening dedicated to the wicked, romantic, and thrilling songs of the great American songwriter on Tuesday, Sept. 28. The festivities take place at 7 p.m. at The Triad, 158 West 72nd Street (bet. Broadway and Columbus Avenue).

The SING! experience is delightful and delicious -- arrive at the charming and intimate Triad, order drinks, and receive the lyrics for about 20 songs to be sung together.

Co-hosts are singer/pianist Anne Phillips, who puts the songs in correct keys for men and women to sing, and Michael Shepley, who provides informal, amusing and interesting background to the songs themselves.

Although at posting time the final list of selections has not been made, it is likely that we will sing songs from the following list: Night and Day, I Get A Kick Out of You, You're The Top, Anything Goes, Just One of Those Things, Easy to Love, I've Got You Under My Skin, It's De-Lovely, You'd Be So Nice to Come Home To, Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye, So in Love, From This Moment On, I Love Paris, and many others.

The Cole Porter sing-along begins promptly at 7 p.m. (Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and seats/tables are first-come, first-served.) There is a $10 cover per person, plus a two-drink minimum (cash only, please). No food is served. The Triad is located at 158 West 72nd Street (between Broadway and Columbus Avenue, and is up one flight of wide stairs above the Turkish Grill restaurant. An elevator is available for anyone needing assistance. The SINGs last approximately 90 minutes, so you'll leave in a great mood and be ready for a nice dinner at a nearby restaurant.

New York City’s ongoing Upper West Side institution – SING! SING! SING! – heats up AND cools down at its next sing-in, Cool Songs For A Summer Evening on Wednesday, August 4th at 7 p.m. at The Triad, 158 West 72nd Street.

“Cool” not only refers to temperatures but also to wise, hip, funny and moving lyrics and melodies – making the evening “jump” with songs from In the Cool, Cool, Cool of the Evening to Too Darn Hot.

At SING! SING! SING! events, co-hosts Anne Phillips and Michael Shepley provide piano and anecdotal accompaniment, respectively, and the audience takes over. Lyric sheets are provided to keep everyone happily in sync.

In the list of over 20 songs to be sung together are such additional gems as Summer Wind, Sunny, We’re Having A Heat Wave, Here Comes the Sun, I’ve Got the Sun in the Morning, Midnight Sun, Moonglow, Old Devil Moon, Steam Heat, Tenderly, and Those Lazy Hazy Crazy Days of Summer, among many others.

Previous SING! events have included tributes to Oscar Hammerstein II, MGM musicals, Nat King Cole, and different themes like singing, dancing, and travel. After each evening, the audience “sings” the praises of the songs and the SING! SING! SING! concept. “I always leave the SING SING SING events feeling 100% better about life than when I walked in,” wrote Kathy W. “What an exceptional treat!” wrote Dale R. And Lynne M. said, “I can’t tell you how much your event helped my mood!”

Phillips and Shepley frequently cite the book, “The Hidden Messages of Water” by Japanese scientist Masaru Emoto (Beyond Words Publishing) which contains color photographs of water molecules exposed to harmonic and happy music (detailed, balanced white crystals) and music that is harsh and dissonant (brown and shapeless).

“Since human beings are over 70 percent water,” say the co-hosts, “we seek to alter the chemistry of all who join us. The result? Uplifted spirits. And we always tip the hat to the great songwriters of the past whose artistry is responsible for changing the way we think and feel.”

Edgewater, NJ -- A popular New York musical institution that has families, friends and neighbors singing great American songs together, is coming to Edgewater, New Jersey.

My Favorite Things – A SING! SING! SING! Tribute to the Songs of Oscar Hammerstein II will be held at Waterford Towers in Edgewater on Sunday, July 18 at 2 p.m. The 2-hour program is sponsored by the Edgewater Arts Council.

Singing co-hosts Anne Phillips and Michael Shepley provide piano and anecdotal accompaniment, respectively, and the audience takes over in a sing-a-long. Lyric sheets are provided to keep everyone happily in sync. Phillips and Shepley have been holding the “sing-in’s for over a year, with a variety of tributes and subjects, including songs about songs, dancing, travel, and gems from MGM musicals. The event is perfect for families who want to expose their children to great songs from the American, Broadway and Hollywood songbooks.

A special added treat is the participation of Amy Asch, editor of the acclaimed book, "The Complete Lyrics of Oscar Hammerstein II" (Knopf). Amy will share some special insights into Hammerstein as well as some of his unpublished lyrics.

Songs to be sung together will include hits from Hammerstein’s legendary collaborations with composer Richard Rodgers – including “Oklahoma!,” “Carousel,” the film “State Fair,” “South Pacific,” “The King and I,” “Flower Drum Song,” and “The Sound of Music” – plus others from his work with Jerome Kern, Rudolf Friml and Sigmund Romberg.

“My Favorite Things” is presented by the Edgewater Arts Council which provides art experiences to Edgewater and the surrounding communities. It will host the 19th annual Edgewater Arts and Music Festival on Sunday, September 19 in the Shadyside section of Edgewater.

Tickets are $20 for adults. Children under 12 are free. Reservations will be accepted, and tickets may be purchased at the door.
